diy | planting a cactus

For some of you out there, planting a cactus has never even been a consideration. For people like me, it’s a hobby. I think cacti are adorable and so easy to take care of- but how does one plant a cactus without constantly hurting themselves? I’ve created this DIY of four simple steps to take when planting a cactus.

First, gather all of the items that you’ll need. The cactus, a ceramic pot, potting soil, tongs and water.

Next you’ll want to fill your pot with soil. Fill it high enough to where your cactus will fit snug in his new home.

Using your tongs, you’ll then want to gently grab the base of the cactus, lifting it out of it’s temporary pot and placing it into the new pot. If you find there’s still extra room surrounding the cactus, simply fit it in with more soil, avoiding the needles of the cactus.

Once your cactus is happy in his new home I’d suggest to give him a drink. Remember that they’re desert plants and don’t need too much water; I spray my cactus once a week!

Enjoy!!  xo
